Donation: Ronald McDonald House Charities

It’s donation time again! And we love bragging about our wonderful customers!

We care about all of our customers. And part of that caring means that we give back to our local community and to all of our customers. With being the go-to specialist for all personal identification needs, Coller Industries likes donating name tags and other custom items to those in need.

This time, The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego needed our help. They are a wonderful organization and they work with a lot of volunteers. And constantly needing to identify these people can get expensive. Coller Industries has worked with this charity to provide name badges for the volunteers.

Reusable badges are a versatile way to get a large quantity of name badges for a great, low price.

Speedy badges

Speedy Badges are easy to assemble and come with a colored frame, and a clear plastic lens. The frames are available in three colors: black, gold or silver. Simply remove any used inserts from the badge and print, or write, a new insert. Use these reusable name badges over and over again. Speedy Badges are a great and inexpensive solution for a reusable name tag. And they are a must for companies with high-turnover positions and volunteers.

“This donation assists us with our daily operations by helping to identify our volunteer staff,” said Vincent Speitel, Volunteer Coordinator, of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.

“The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a ‘home away from home’ for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals,” Speitel added.

The Ronald McDonald House relies on community support. It is the only service of its kind that is open to families caring for children at any San Diego area hospital. Thanks to an active volunteer program and generous community support, each year approximately:
• 1,400 families reside with us during their child’s hospitalization.
• 11,000 additional people use our Family Care Center, coming for meals, computer access, and other essential resources.
• 130,000 meals are served free of charge to family members with hospital identification.
• 200 siblings of hospitalized children take part in education and enrichment programs, including the School Away from School and Learn & Play Center.

We are grateful for organizations such as The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. All of our donations are something that help us stand out from our competition. And the best part is working with wonderful people!

Customer Donations: The Cheesecake Factory

By now, you should know that donations are a large part of what makes us, well, us!

Coller Industries might just be your go-to specialist for all personal identification needs, but did you know that we care about all of our customers? Well, it’s true, we do! And part of that caring means that we give back. Not only to our local community, but to all of our customers. We do this by giving donations of our goods to those in need. And we are happy to announce that we’ve done it again!

This month’s donation went to The Cheesecake Factory Oscar and Evelyn Overton Charitable Foundation. Now that’s a mouthful! But look at what they have to say for themselves.

The Cheesecake Factory has inherited a tradition of excellence from our founders, Oscar and Evelyn Overton. (Their values have) shaped our culture and continue to define (the company’s) character today. It is with these values in mind that we proudly established The Cheesecake Factory Charitable Foundation in 2001.

The foundation exists to fulfill its mission through enhancing surrounding communities’ well-being. This non-profit organization was created not only as a means to raise funds for worthy causes, but also as a way to unite our caring and conscientious staff members in charitable causes.

Monica Schneider, Foundation Intern at The Cheesecake Factory, said, “We greatly appreciate Coller Industries’ generosity (in supporting our foundation and efforts).”

Schneider went on to explain how the badge holders and lanyards would benefit the foundation. “The 14th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Auction brings together The Cheesecake Factory vendors, associates and corporate staff members to raise much needed funds. Money raised expands Foundation programs and provides a substantial donation to the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.”

“As a result of the 2015 Tournament, the Foundation donated $205,000 to City of Hope,” exclaimed Schneider.

We are grateful for organizations such as The Cheesecake Factory Charitable Foundation. All of our donations are sincerely something that helps us stand out from our competition.

Donations: Granite Education Foundation

Making students a priority; from our community to you, donations create unity.

Helping out our local community is a large part of what defines the generosity of Coller Industries Incorporated. We like to highlight each company that we donate to throughout the year. Each of these donations are typically personal identification related, such as name tags or award ribbons. This donation, however, is of a different nature.

Coller Industries also donated metal name tags for the committee members to wear during the event. These laser engraved name tags were easy to use with the magnetic fasteners.

So, what is the Excel Award?
The Granite Education Foundation recognizes and honors superior educators, true classroom heroes, the men and women responsible for molding and preparing our children to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. These individuals have a track record of improving student achievement, using innovative instructional strategies and making a difference in the lives of students. These educators are among a select few highlighted annually as Excel Outstanding Educators who are making a difference in Granite School District classrooms.

Although thousands of nominations were submitted for the Excel Award, only 11 recipients were chosen by the Excel Committee and being recognized for their service in education.

On April 22, Coller Industries was invited by Granite Education Foundation to attend this year’s Excel Evening of Honors. This evening is a special celebration of the Excel Award Winners. This year 11 individuals were honored for their outstanding achievements as professional educators.

As Coller Industries makes generous donations each year to the foundation, we were able to attend this gala not only as distinguished guests but also as an award presenter. We were able acknowledge Lisa Foster!

“Lisa Foster, a resource teacher at Wasatch Junior High School, knows that children are not numbers or data points, but intricate human beings who deserve to be treated as such. Lisa makes her classroom a safe place for children where they are comfortable and feel they can take educational risks. She knows her students, their families, their friends and what they go through outside of school and in the hallways.”

“Mrs. Foster has helped me through a lot and is patient, funny and always willing to help.” -Student

“This is my third year presenting one of the awards. It’s such an honor to be able to recognize one of Utah’s great educators,” said Gary Coller.

customer donations coller industries and granite education foundation excel awards galaTeachers were requested to join a presenter on stage to receive their award, a $1,000 check and other generous gifts. Each Excel Award recipient received a sculpture, designed by local Utah sculptor Matt Glenn. This sculpture comes in two parts. The bottom portion has the four Granite Education Foundation hand icons from their logo. Each hand symbolized educate, give, volunteer and advocate. The top portion is a student’s hand reaching for a teacher’s hand. This piece can be removed and turned over so that the teacher’s hand is extending up toward the student’s hand.

Coller Industries Incorporated started giving donations to the Granite Education Foundation in 2009 and to day has donated over $37,000. We are happy to continue our annual support of this wonderful foundation. And as employees here at Coller Industries, it is a pleasure knowing that our employer is this generous with their time and money.

Founded in 1976, Women Against Abuse, Inc. is the leading domestic violence service provider in Philadelphia. Women Against Abuse serves over 15,000 people each year through emergency safe haven, transitional housing, community-based supportive services, behavioral health therapy, legal services, hot line counseling, and community education, advocacy and technical assistance. Its mission is to provide quality, compassionate and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education.

iPledge is Women Against Abuse’s social awareness campaign, founded in 2008 to raise awareness to domestic violence, a public health epidemic that impacts 1 in 3 women. It is the premier Philadelphia campaign that engages the community in taking a stand against domestic violence.

“The donation Women Against Abuse received makes it possible for us to have enough name tags for guests at the 2016 Dish It Up on April 7th, Women Against Abuse’s annual fund raising event and Philadelphia’s only female chef competition!” exclaimed Christine Nieves, Director of Funds Development for Women Against Abuse.

Nieves goes on to explain, “This year also marks Women Against Abuse’s 40th anniversary. (We have been involved for) 40 years of progress in the struggle to end domestic violence and providing lifesaving services for women, children and men affected by this public health (partner violence) epidemic.”mighty badge medium plus women against abuse customer donations

Women Against Abuse received 180 Medium Plus Mighty Badges. Mighty Badges are a great way to use a reusable name tag. The metal plates can be ordered plain or with a printed logo and names are quick and easy to add with the printable inserts. The Mighty Badge system is easy to use, as the three parts simply snap together to give you a professional looking, yet reusable, name badge.

“Throughout the years, we found that these name tags truly are the best in terms of quality. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the the donation program with Coller Industries,” says Nieves.

Donations: Cornerstone Assembly

Giving donations is part of who we are.

Coller Industries enjoys giving back to our surrounding communities, and part of this process is providing donations to companies and organizations that need personal identification products for their business or other needs. The most recent of these donations was given to Cornerstone Assembly of God in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

“Here at Cornerstone we feel God has called us to help people become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter what your background is, what you struggle with or what hand life has dealt you; God has a plan for your life,” said Pastor Steve, Lead Pastor at Cornerstone Assembly.

“We encourage our congregation to not confine their God experience to the church building, but rather to experience God in the real world,” Shaun Hughes, Creative Arts Pastor at Cornerstone Assembly of God stated.

Cornerstone Assembly’s mission statement is “Empowering people to experience God in the real world.” Their aim is to impact their community with the gospel and love of Christ through their words and their actions. Their core values are joy, transparency and generosity and they accomplish this by being “real, relevant and rational.”

Cornerstone Assembly received donations of full color name tags with a dome finish and magnetic fasteners. Full color name tags are available as a digitally printed plastic tag. The thermal transfer printing process captures logos and images in crisp, bright full colors. The printing can also extend off the edge (bleed) and all text can be printed in any color.

“I can’t describe how much one simple little thing like name badges has really impacted our people. The volunteers LOVE them; the look, the feel, the ease of use. It has been a physical symbol of the unity they feel working together as a team greeting our guests and congregation members each and every week,” said Hughes.

“Our pastor commented that it was the most professional looking item we’ve ever ordered!” Hughes exclaimed. “These (name) tags will help identify our greeters and hospitality team to our first time guests. They will lend a polished, professional look to our hospitality team. The domed plastic ensures that the name tags will endure long term and still look fantastic.”
