Name Tags Help Those With Diabetes

But, what does diabetes have to do with name tags?

Giving back to the community defines Coller Industries Incorporated. Through our motto of To Serve Our Customers and establishing our business practices, donations help us maintain our ideal. This most recent donation goes to a fantastic company who is supporting their community with assistance to those with diabetes.

Carb DM “Seize Diabetes”

Carb DM’sname tag inc help carb dm seize diabetes with a donation mission is to build a supportive community that improves the quality of life and health of all those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Our community fosters connections among people with T1D, their loved ones and medical professionals. It promotes learning and develops strategies for thriving with T1D.

Krystle Samai, Executive Director for Carb DM, said, “We are a small yet mighty team. Type 1 diabetes knows no gender, ethnicity or age. Insulin injections are what is required to live, but support and a community of people who truly understand what living with this chronic lifelong condition is like are what enables people to thrive.”

A UV Logo for Diabetes Support

This logo style is perfect for a bright and colorful look. Carb DM added two lines of printing for names and titles. They also wanted magnetic fasteners, one of our most popular choices, to complete the sleek, professional look.

“These reusable badges will be worn by our staff and volunteers to help increase their visibility in our community,” said Samai. “We do a lot of local events and support groups, so this small touch helps us to be identifiable. It helps us to better represent the organization and mission and to connect with others who may need the services we offer.

Every donation we give becomes a part of who we are. And every organization we help, such as Carb DM, makes us understand why service is a must for everyone. So, as we get to know those who help others with diabetes, this donation makes us even more grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community.

A Conversation With A Name Badge

Have you ever talked with an inanimate object? Well, today, we’re sharing a recent conversation we had with a name badge!

colors, text and logos are all key features of a name badgeWe sat down over the long, holiday weekend with a Name Badge and asked several questions about how a name badge works and why they think their job is so important. Here are the top three questions from that interview.

Question 1: Describe Your Job

Reporter: I would like to start with a simple question, Name Badge. Please explain your job and what it is that you do on a daily basis.

Name Badge: Whoa! Slow down there! That’s a super detailed question, and it will take more than just a few minutes to answer. Are you sure you want to start with that one?

Reporter: Yes, I am sure.

use logo name tags and name badge to brand your companyName Badge: Alright, glad you’re sitting down. So, here it goes. Although my job isn’t a simple one, it is reasonably easy to do. You see, the basic concept of my job is to let people know my name. But, here’s where it gets complicated. My name changes. My design changes. Sometimes I have color and sometimes I’m plain or even blank.

Reporter: That is a lot to take in, Name Badge. But I think you’re deviating from the question. What is your job?

Name Badge: First off, call me NB, it’s easier. In a nutshell, my job is to tell others who I am.

Reporter: That doesn’t sound too hard, NB. So, why do you think it’s so complicated?

NB: My job is complicated because of the many different ways people customize and use me.

Question 2: What Customizations Are Available?

NB: As I mentioned before, my design changes. Some people use their first name. Others use first and last names, while still others add titles, company names and sometimes even logos. And, I come in many different colors. I’m a chameleon that way. Oh, and sometimes people write on me.

Reporter: So, basically what you are telling me is that you have many faces? If that is the case, how do people know how to use you?

NB: Yes, I do have many faces. And sometimes that makes it a bit harder to use me. Although, to most people, using me is a natural thing; especially when those people work in stores or offices with tons of employees. Most know that I wear best on the right side of their shirt, but sometimes people put me in their pockets or place me where I’m hard to read. I do my job best when worn correctly.

Question 3: Finding Your Best Feature

Reporter: So, NB, if you’re appropriately worn and used correctly, what is your best feature?

NB: You like asking loaded questions, don’t you?

Reporter: What do you mean?

use a name badge to show your name, your company's name and your logoNB: Well, my best feature is the one the consumer likes the most. So, if they worked hard on their company’s branding, the logo would be my best feature. But, if the person wearing me needs others to know that they are a volunteer, then my title would be my best feature. Does that make sense?

Reporter: Yes, I suppose it does. So, your best feature is what others need it to be?

NB: Exactly!

Reporter: Wow! I’ve learned a lot from you today, NB. Thanks. I should probably be wearing a name badge, too!

Acupuncture, Healing & Name Tags

What does acupuncture have to do with name tags?

Coller Industries Incorporated loves giving back to our community. It’s what helps define our business standards and practices. And, without these donations, we know we wouldn’t be complete. Our most recent contribution goes to a wonderful corporation who is helping their community through acupuncture.

Acupuncturists Without Borders of the National Capital Area (AWB-NCA)

using acupuncture to help survivors, first responders, emergency personnel and other care providersAWB-NCA offers acupuncture and integrative medical care to restore vitality and renew the spirit of people suffering from traumatic stress. We create peace for one family, one community, one world, one person at a time.

AWB is committed to collaborating with local community-based organizations and treating all who have been affected by traumatic events. This includes survivors, first responders, emergency personnel and other care providers. We offer services and training in local communities with the goal of creating long-term, sustainable benefits after we leave. They intend to empower each community we serve in a way that best supports their particular needs for rebuilding and recovery.

Susan Berman, Licensed Acupuncturist at AWB-NCA, said, “Acupuncture is an ideal approach for the multiple, complex and over-lapping symptoms associated with high levels of stress, including insomnia, pain, digestive disturbance, challenges with cognition and focus, depression and anxiety.”

AWB-NCA’s Recent Disaster and Crisis Relief Efforts: In 2018, they responded to the shooting in Parkland, FL, the volcanic eruptions in Hawaii and the ongoing crisis in Puerto Rico. In 2017, AWB provided thousands of treatments in Texas, Florida, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, and California communities devastated by hurricanes, floods and fires.

Berman also said, “Acupuncturists Without Borders of the National Capital Area (AWB-NCA) is a year old! Thanks to our supporters and our dedicated volunteer staff, we are proud that we have provided over 250 free acupuncture treatments in our local community in two free community acupuncture clinics. Acupuncture has been an effective tool to help people cope with the anxiety, insomnia, pain and other stress-related symptoms that have increasingly affected our community members during this past year.”

What’s In A Name? Identifying Your World

By wearing a name tag, you let the world know who you are.

Name tags are used by customer service companies so that patrons can identify employees quickly. Professional organizations where employees do not wear uniforms may also wear nametags as a way of distinguishing themselves.

Show Pride In Your Name

engraved plastic name tags help identify you to the worldThis name can represent you, your company or your goal or purpose. But any way you use it, you are showing how much pride you have in this name or purpose by wearing a nametag. While the presentation is simple, the message goes way beyond that. You let others know that you’re serious about your cause. And you help those around you know who you are what you’re all about.

Name tags are a friendly greeting and more importantly, a direct line from you to your end consumer or goal; such a simple and yet efficient idea. Wear it around your neck or on your shirt, maybe put it on your desk as a nameplate. A nametag identifies who you are and what your presentation or purpose is.

What’s In A Name Tag?

By wearing a nametag, you become the face of your purpose, and you are representing that to everyone around you. In many ways, this benefits both you and your goal so that the people around you can put a face with a name. We have all heard that “a picture is worth a thousand words;” tell that story simply and quickly with your smile and a nametag. Wear your nametag proudly and let it serve its purpose!

Keep your name tag simple, but remember branding!

use a UV color logo to brand your name tagsLeave your mark by adding a logo to all of the nametags in your office. Or, when creating nametags for a conference, add different company logos to each group’s nametags. Each company will appreciate this branding, and it also helps with continued recognition for each brand.

So, whether it is at a convention, at your workplace, or a simple neighborhood party, wear your nametag proudly and let it serve its purpose!
