Scouting, a School Drumline and Name Plates

Scouting, a School Drumline and Name Plates

Giving back to our community is good for business. It’s a great way to get exposure for a company and to promote products or services. But, giving back isn’t about what you get in return, it’s about who you are helping.

Here at Coller Industries, we understand that when we are helping those in our community, the best thing we get back is that feeling of knowing you helped someone. Investing in the community by donating our products is one of our best forms of marketing. But again, it isn’t just about the marketing possibilities, it’s about the people. Even when the need is small, like for a BSA Eagle Scout project, it’s still important to us.

So, here’s our shout-out to Matt Pellegrini and what he’s doing in his community.

Coller Industries: Tell us about your project. What is the main goal?

Mr. Pellegrini: “The main goal of my project is to help the Enfield High School Drumline, which I am a part of. I have built a large shelf system for the drumline to store drums, cases, stands and harnesses. Right now, in the area where we will be placing the shelf, the drumline has all the drums inside their respective cases on the floor. It is very disorganized, and with the cases laying on the floor it takes up a lot of space. This shelf will keep everything that the drumline needs off the floor and organized.”

Coller Industries: How will the name plate donation help your project?

Mr. Pellegrini: “I am looking to have name plates and metal wall mounts donated to go on the shelf. These name plates will show the drummers where they can store their drums. This donation will help because I have only raised roughly $1,500 through family and friends donating to the project. Any additional donation or discount is appreciated.

“This project is an Eagle Scout project which, if you didn’t know, is the last step in a Boy Scout’s journey through the BSA Scouting program. I am a part of the school’s drumline and know that our music department doesn’t have enough money to buy a shelf along with sending us to several competitions every year. So, I thought this would be the perfect project!

“I am a senior at Enfield High School, and I feel this something I can do for the school along with leaving a little piece of myself behind after I graduate this spring.”

Creating Community Understanding

Understanding the community concept teaches that no matter the setting, there are things which must be done to keep it healthy. These insights are supported and managed by people feeling that they belong somewhere. And this comes with accepting each other and the diversity of those around you. This community understanding makes us responsible for those around us. In turn, this community responsibility not only aids those in need, but it assists everyone influenced by any actions in that community.

Donations are one way that makes us more responsible in our community. And, building trust in our community is not only a requirement but also the best way to maintain any community. This is why we, as a company, are always looking to help out in our neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Name Tags Help Those With Diabetes

But, what does diabetes have to do with name tags?

Giving back to the community defines Coller Industries Incorporated. Through our motto of To Serve Our Customers and establishing our business practices, donations help us maintain our ideal. This most recent donation goes to a fantastic company who is supporting their community with assistance to those with diabetes.

Carb DM “Seize Diabetes”

Carb DM’sname tag inc help carb dm seize diabetes with a donation mission is to build a supportive community that improves the quality of life and health of all those affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). Our community fosters connections among people with T1D, their loved ones and medical professionals. It promotes learning and develops strategies for thriving with T1D.

Krystle Samai, Executive Director for Carb DM, said, “We are a small yet mighty team. Type 1 diabetes knows no gender, ethnicity or age. Insulin injections are what is required to live, but support and a community of people who truly understand what living with this chronic lifelong condition is like are what enables people to thrive.”

This logo style is perfect for a bright and colorful look. Carb DM added two lines of printing for names and titles. They also wanted magnetic fasteners, one of our most popular choices, to complete the sleek, professional look.

“These reusable badges will be worn by our staff and volunteers to help increase their visibility in our community,” said Samai. “We do a lot of local events and support groups, so this small touch helps us to be identifiable. It helps us to better represent the organization and mission and to connect with others who may need the services we offer.

In 2017, AWB provided thousands of treatments in Texas, Florida, Las Vegas, Puerto Rico, and California communities devastated by hurricanes, floods and fires.

Berman also said, “Acupuncturists Without Borders of the National Capital Area (AWB-NCA) is a year old! Coller Industries loves giving back to our community. It’s what helps define our business standards and practices. And, without these donations, we know we wouldn’t be complete. Brianne Roberson, Office Coordinator at The Arc of King County, summarizes by saying, “We offer supported living, homelessness prevention and civic engagement to promote and protect the rights of people with IDD.”

donations, mighty badges and helping people get their wingsFrom engraved logos to printable inserts, one of our most popular products is our Mighty Badges. Due to the versatility of these name badges, our customers keep coming back for them time and time again. The Arc is no different. Coller Industries provided Standard Mighty Badges with a white back plate for The Arc. Mighty Badges with logos make the process effortless. “The name badges allow us to be easily identified and help our clients learn our names,” said Roberson. The Arc is using these tags during their Wings for Autism event.

Wings for Autism is back!

Wings for Autism is a program that is designed to alleviate some of the stress that families who have a child with autism spectrum disorders experience when traveling by air. It provides families an opportunity to practice entering an airport, obtain boarding passes, go through security, and board a plane.

The program also gives airport professionals an opportunity to interact and deliver their services in a structured, learning environment.

The next Wings for Autism event is March 3, 2018, at Seattle Tacoma International Airport.
